Lady sprays paint through colanders. People cannot stop sharing this New Year idea

Directions

  1. Cover your workspace with newspapers or a drop cloth to protect surfaces.

  2. Clean the glass jars thoroughly, removing any labels, and allow them to dry completely.

  3. Use masking tape to cover areas you want to leave unpainted.

  4. Place the jar upside down on the protected surface.

  5. Hold the metal colander centered over the jar.

  6. Wearing gloves, spray acrylic paint over the colander, allowing the pattern to transfer onto the jar.

  7. Repeat with additional colors, letting each layer dry before applying the next for a layered firework effect.

  8. Carefully remove the masking tape once the paint has set.

  9. Allow the jars to dry completely before displaying.

✨ Variations & Tips

  • Use glow-in-the-dark spray paint for jars that light up at night.

  • Try metallic paints for a shimmering, upscale look.

  • Choose pastel shades for a softer, more subtle effect.

  • Sprinkle fine glitter onto wet paint for added sparkle.

  • Insert fairy lights or LED candles inside—never use real flames.

This versatile project makes it easy to customize colors and styles to suit any celebration, from New Year’s Eve to birthdays or seasonal décor.
